Few countries have such romantic allure as the Spice Island of Zanzibar, a slumbering lush paradise where green cloves, bread leaf, rice, cinnamon and coconuts still grow wild today. The old Stone Town of Zanzibar is a fascinating warren of narrow streets, overhanging balconies and huge, intricately carved wooden doors. The bustling Suk (bazaar), where traders bargain excitedly, is full of the pungent perfume of exotic spices. This is the town where the famous 19th century explorers such as Livingstone, Stanley, Burton, Speke and Grant began their fateful journeys into the 'dark' interior. Outside the town there are many places of historic interest including the Maruhubi Palace, formerly the Sultan's harem, Mangapwani Village, the former site of the notorious slave pits and many other captivating hide-aways. Access to Zanzibar is a simple flight from Nairobi, Mombasa, Arusha or Dar es Salaam. So, tagging on a few days of culture, diving or simple relaxation after a safari is very easy to arrange.

STONE TOWN TOUR
This is a guided historical tour to the old town of Zanzibar, fondly known as Stone Town. The tour is covered mainly on foot, providing the Guests the opportunity to stroll through the narrow alleys, carved balconies, old post office.
• The central market, built in 1904, a bustling place where fish, fruits,vegetable and spices are sold
• The Anglican cathedral, (1873) built on the site of the former slave
market.

SPICE TOUR
A trip to the lush green gardens of innumerable species of spices and
tropical fruits trees. Many of these spices have medicinal properties and are still used by the local purpose to cure certain maladies, taste a variety of fruits ranging from the rose apple to the guava… savor
different spices in their aromatic state , cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, black pepper,you name it!!

You get to see rare plant used for their value in preparing
cosmetics:henna, lipstick tree, perfume trees etc. the ruins of the Kidichi Persian baths are also visited enroute.

JOZANI FOREST.
This wetland forest is the only one remaining intact on the island. About 45 minutes drive from city center, it is home to the surviving members of the Red Columbus monkeys (procolobus kirkii), a very rare species and only found in Zanzibar. The forest is a delight, with a swamp in the middle and small streams flowing into the ocean. There is mangrove forest, alive show visitors to small colonies of these cute primates. The park is best visited before 10 a.m. or after 4 pm.

PRISON ISLAND
Also known as Changuu Island, is an island situated west of Zanzibar, about 20 minutes ride by motorboat. It measures about a half a mile long an eight wide. Slave owners formerly use it as a private detention for disobedient slaves. It was then bought by Gen. Matthews who constructed a jail on it, hence the name prison Island, but prison was never put into use. It still stands derelict. Off this Island, clients can swim and snorkel, and walk around to see the giant tortoises. Lunch can be arranged on the island

DOLPHIN TRIP
Transfer leaves at 07h45 to Kizimkazi Dimbani South West of the island
thejourney take one hour. The clients embark on motor boat to dolphin
conservation areas, where they sight and can swim very near to the
dolphins.Life jackets and snorkeling gears are included, after one and half hours they go to sand bank at sea where seafood BBQ is served under a temporary shelter. After lunch you can continue snorkeling in the coral areas, or have a try at line fishing. Departure from Kizimkazi is in the late afternoon to arrive back to their hotel at about 19.00
